Adjustment of the infrastructure surcharge from 01.09.2024

With this letter, we would like to inform you about the development of our infrastructure surcharge.

Conditions in rail transport have deteriorated further.
This includes in particular, but not exclusively, delays at the seaport terminals and the associated loading interruptions as well as unplanned construction activities.

As we can no longer compensate for the additional costs arising from this situation, we are forced to increase the infrastructure surcharge with effect from 01.09.2024 to €25.00 per TEU and direction for all rail transports to and from the German inland terminals.

The following services will continue to be charged at the conditions already known to you:

Infrastructure surcharge:

  • An infrastructure surcharge of €8.00 per TEU is charged for all rail transports to and from Austrian domestic terminals.
  • Fuel surcharge:

  • For transports via German inland terminals and Wolfurt a diesel surcharge of 12% will be charged.
  • For transports via Austrian inland terminals other than Wolfurt, a diesel surcharge of 6% will be levied.

  • This surcharge is of course related to the truck freight rate and will be shown separately on the invoice.

    Energy surcharge:

  • An energy surcharge of €25.00 per TEU is charged for all rail transports to and from the southern ports.

  • An energy surcharge of €12.00 per TEU will be charged for all rail transports to and from German inland terminals (excluding southern ports).

  • There is no surcharge for all rail transports to and from the northern and western ports to Austrian inland terminals.
  • We thank you for your understanding and will be happy to answer any questions you may have at any time at ham.sales@imscargo.com.
