Current situation Port of Hamburg

The handling delays at HHLA Terminal Burchardkai have now increased to 24 - 26 hours throughout. In addition, there has been no change to the restrictions in the North regional area.
Among other things, there was a signal fault and a major fault here, which then also affected the already delayed trains. As a result, some of our trains to/from Bremerhaven are now also running 22 hours late.
This means that there are massive delays across the entire network and also cancellations in some areas.

A few minutes ago, we also received the information that the service union ver.di is calling its members to a full-day warning strike on Monday, March 10. This will also affect the port infrastructure in Hamburg.
The extent to which these issues will have a combined effect cannot be predicted at present, but it is unlikely that there will be any improvement. In fact, it is likely that the delays in our network will continue to worsen and will continue throughout next week.

As always, we will inform you directly from our scheduling department which of your containers are affected. Please also check the availability of the containers to be picked up in Germany before you pick them up in order to avoid missed tours.

With regard to deadlines, we refer in this context to our General Terms and Conditions: “Delivery deadlines or fixed dates cannot be guaranteed. These are subject to unhindered transportation conditions on rail and road”.
