New practice for owner’s identification of loading units (ILU-Code)

as per 1st July 2014 the 3-year transition period for the implementation of the ILU-Code (Intermodal Loading Unit) for trailers and swap bodies in combined transports is terminated.All loading units have to be marked with ILU-code labels.
For ISO-Containers the well known BIC-Code will be remain valid.

To avoid unnecessary complications during the operational process at the terminals we kindly ask you to apply only ILU- or BIC-Codes for booking, delivery and pick-up of your loading units from that date onwards. Please inform also your service partners and sub contractors. For unaccompanied transport chains, combined with a ferry service, please assure for a consistent loading unit identification code.
